South of the square: palaces and tombs
Three state-run sites close together in the Kasbah area.
Bahia Palace
The palace has courtyards, painted wooden ceilings and tiled fountains. Foreign adults pay MAD 100, and children aged 7 to 13 pay MAD 50. Moroccan adults and residents pay MAD 30.
El Badi Palace
El Badi is a ruin of basins and long walls rather than furnished rooms. It uses the same prices and hours as Bahia: MAD 100 for foreign adults, MAD 50 for children aged 7 to 13, open 09:00–17:00.
Saadian Tombs
The tombs lie in the north of the Kasbah. The core of the necropolis dates from 1557, and it was extended under Ahmad al-Mansur. Prices and hours match the two palaces. Marble tombs and carved stucco are the main sights.
North of the square: medersa, gardens and museums
The Ben Youssef Medersa is open daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and shortens its hours in Ramadan to 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Foreign adults pay MAD 50, Moroccan adults MAD 20 with ID, and children under 12 pay MAD 10. Look for the carved calligraphy and the courtyard pool.
Le Jardin Secret is at 121 Rue Mouassine. Entry is MAD 100, the tower costs MAD 40 extra, and children under 12 enter free. Hours depend on the season: 09:30 to 18:30 from January to March, to 19:30 from April to September, to 18:00 in October, and to 17:30 in November and December. Last entry is 30 minutes before closing. Tickets are sold online and at the gate and stay valid for one year.

Two small museums in the Mouassine district
The Maison de la Photographie is a photography museum and is open daily from 09:30 to 19:00. The Musée de la Musique is at 4 to 5 Derb el Hammam and is open daily from 10:00 to 19:00. Both charge MAD 80 for adults, and one ticket is valid at both. Moroccan residents pay MAD 50, and children under 15 are free.
The music museum holds short concerts on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 18:00 to 19:00. Check its calendar for the date you plan to go, as special programmes change.
